A step outside of the networking job posts...

How can we market our skills and honor the no-spam etiquette?

Greetings Herbin Bread GuarDinners!

I am grateful to be sharing this audio with you today. Recently, I have noticed that more people are promoting their selves and at the same time contradicting this idea of networking without soliciting our own friends.

So how can we actually share our skills and services with people if we are not allowed to talk about them?

The masses of people think it’s perfectly fine to give an unsolicited review about their fast food meal at the office but, don’t let the local farmer’s market vendor tell you about what they do off the clock.

People say they don’t like to be sold to but yet they go into work and do sales for a company that pays them pennies for the same skills they can use for their own products and services.

Imagine no advertisements or marketing strategies by anyone, ever!

No commercials.

No pop-up ads.

No full-page articles in the newspaper.

No movie trailers.

No product placement in TV shows.

No celebrity sponsorships in music videos.

No discount coupons in your inbox.

No flyers on your windshield. No cut-out coupons in magazines.

No cheesy actors strolling thru random gardens awkwardly holding a brand’s canned beverage, while pretending to taste it and get blasted off into space by it’s ginormous flavor boosting ingredients.

What’s wrong with us?

Is it a crime to tell people about what we need help with so we can potentially earn a living and gain some knowledge about our craft as we have experiences and mature

Perhaps no one else is having this type of experience but me!

Highly doubt it!

What I am getting at is we all had to start from the bottom of our industry. As we grow our knowledge and confidence, we should be growing our database. Our contact list. But more importantly, we should be growing our community. Helping each other out with their chosen interest or life career.

If you’re not able to accept their aid, maybe you know someone else that will.

Be interested to learn about what your fellow neighbors or friends are doing. You might be able to help them later, or you may need their services or skills at another time.

Shame on you if you are one of those people extinguishing other people’s dreams because you are ignorant about what they know!

Would you want someone to do that to your dream?

Perhaps you are envious and wish you had chosen a different path and by seeing someone else pursue their higher calling has got your panties all in a bunch…

Anyway, I want to close with the truth. Everything that you ‘OWN’ or have in your possession arrived by way of marketing and promoting. Whether it’s was your choice or not. Unless you made it yourself, in which case you still had to acquire your materials from somewhere.

And yes, mother nature is promoting to you too!

Much love and appreciation!
